MARATHON SANREMO – SESTRIERE

About this event

HAT Marathon Sanremo-Sestriere 2026 is an international adventure motorcycling event held from September 3-6, 2026 in Italy, starting from Piazzale Carlo Dapporto in Sanremo (Liguria) and finishing in Sestriere (Piedmont). The route runs from the Ligurian coast through the Appennino Ligure and up into the Alps, mixing dirt roads, natural-surface tracks and scenic connecting stretches suited to maxi-enduro and adventure bikes. Four categories are offered: Discovery (easy/medium, about 460 km over two days, daytime only), Classic (medium, about 550 km over two days with one night session), Extreme 1000 (medium/expert, about 1000 km over three days with two night sessions, limited to 100 riders), and Master Challenge (medium/expert, about 600 km over two days with one night session, limited to 40 solo riders). Navigation is primarily via GPX tracks and a dedicated Tabella di Marcia (route timing guide) for all categories, while the Master Challenge also introduces a digital roadbook option for its Gate to Gate timed regularity sections alongside GPX. The Master Challenge includes Find Track sections without GPS track, secret checkpoints, speed-controlled zones and timed gates, with a professional tracker (Owaka) and the new Whip Live app used across categories for individual rider tracking and safety. Classic and Extreme require team participation (minimum two riders), Challenge is individual, and Discovery can be solo or team. A pre-event training day, HAT Day Academy, takes place on September 3, 2026 covering navigation, GPS/App use and route planning. The event is organized by Over2000Riders and includes rest stops, medical assistance and insurance as part of the format.
