Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 July 2026

Offroad Moto Events (“we”, “us”) runs offroadmotoevents.com, a referral-only directory of offroad motorcycle events across Europe. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf, and the rights you have under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Questions? Email development@matthamers.com.

What we are

We scrape publicly listed events, summarise them in our own words, moderate them, and link out to the organiser’s own website. There is no registration, ticketing, or payment on this platform. Event pages link you to the organiser, whose own privacy policy applies once you leave our site.

Data we collect

We only collect what the features you use require:

  • Account data (only if you create an account): your email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google.
  • Profile and onboarding: an optional display name, avatar, home country, and the riding disciplines you follow.
  • Saved events: the events you bookmark while signed in.
  • Organisation data (only if you create an organiser profile): the organisation name, website, and description you enter.
  • Event submissions: the event details and the contact email you provide when submitting or tipping an event.
  • Technical data: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and standard server logs kept by our hosting providers for security and reliability.

We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not build behavioural profiles of you.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies: an authentication session cookie so you stay signed in, and an internal cookie for staff moderation. We do not set advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Why we use your data and the legal basis

  • To create and run your account and show your saved events (basis: performance of a contract with you).
  • To let organisers create and manage listings, and to review submissions before they go live (basis: legitimate interest in a trustworthy directory).
  • To send account and transactional email such as sign-in confirmation and password links (basis: performance of a contract).
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (basis: legitimate interest).

Who processes your data

We rely on a small set of processors, and we never sell your data:

  • Supabase: our database and authentication, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany).
  • Vercel: website hosting and content delivery.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google, to authenticate you.
  • Cirrux: delivery of our account and transactional email.

International transfers

Your account data is stored in the EU. Some providers (for example Vercel and Google) may process data outside the EU. Where that happens, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data, except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation. Event information in the directory is not personal data about you.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can request access to your data, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction, and you can object to processing or withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email development@matthamers.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority; in the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. We will change the date at the top when we do, and material changes will be highlighted on the site.
